OUR STORY
Located along the first branch of the White River in central Vermont, Chelsea is a community of 1,200 people with a rich history of agricultural traditions and civic-mindedness.
In 2017, Carrie Caouette-DeLallo & Sarah Caouette invited fellow Chelsea artists to join in a dialogue about how to uplift their historic downtown, after having watched core institutions and businesses shutter their doors along Main Street. Many conversations were had at dinner tables and at organized Town Hall potlucks with friends and neighbors, and centered on what was loved and missed about Chelsea. These interaction and exchanges revealed collective stories and the shared desire to revive traditions that once unified their community. One such tradition was hosting art shows and events on the North Common.
The Chelsea Arts Collective was formed later that year and the Chelsea Barn Quilt Trail was started as a community art project leading up to the first annual Arts on the Green Market & Festival.

CHELSEA ARTS COLLECTIVE
Through a shared love of the arts and community, the Chelsea Arts Collective (CAC) is a group of dedicated individuals who bring their passion, knowledge, and skills together to make magic happen in Chelsea every summer.
It is the aim of the CAC to create and host community events and activities that encourage an appreciation for rural arts, and offer opportunities for working regional artists to sell and display their work.
WE BELIEVE
Art should be inclusive.
Art should be shared and celebrated.
Art can bring people together.
We invite those of all ages and backgrounds to make their mark on the world.
