His journey began during the '60s folk revival, where he managed the iconic Club 47 in Cambridge and played a crucial role in the Newport Folk Festival. Rooney's expertise extends beyond production, encompassing roles such as engineer, musician, and songwriter. He has worked with legendary artists like Townes Van Zandt and Bonnie Raitt, while also releasing his own solo records.
