ART AUCTION

Picture
The Chelsea Arts Collective (CAC), in collaboration with First Branch Community Collaborative, is set to host a day full of art and music, with their first annual Arts on the Green Market & Festival, Saturday, August 25th (10am-5pm), on the North Common in historic Chelsea Village. This one-day community event will be free and open to the public, and will feature thirty New England art vendors, musical performances, and culinary treats from Green Mountain Pizza Co., Sweet Doe Dairy Gelato, Chicken Wiggle Farm, and Cornerstone Catering.  Art activities for children and families will take place throughout the day, along with a silent auction of regional works to help raise funding for sustainable and ongoing community arts programming in the First Branch region. The festival schedule will include music by: singer-songwriters, Jason Baker and Doug Perkins; Arabalon drumming ensemble; the all-female trio, HEN of the Woods;  and Jazz Tweed Duo.

In the spirit of Chelsea's Old Home Day, which was traditionally held in the month of August, the Arts on the Green Market & Festival aims to inspire a new tradition that is both interactive and inclusive. The festival will be followed by a Town Hall concert (7pm-9pm), featuring music by David Rosane & The Zookeepers. Taco’s Taco food truck will be on-site with dinnertime offerings (3pm-8pm).

For more information about the Arts on the Green Market & Festival, please visit the festival website: https://www.chelseavt-arts.com/about-the-festival.html

Some of the organizations invited to collaborate in the festival include: The Chelsea Fish & Game, The Chelsea Historical Society, SafeArt, area-schools, and the Senior Center.    If your local organization would like to be involved, please   contact us!

We are still currently seeking funding partners to provide handicap accessible bathroom facilities for the event, festival sponsorship  and supplies for the children’s art activity tent.

Arabalon  (Concord, NH)
A West African-style drumming ensemble.  " We play the drums of the traditional West African ensemble:  The solos and accompaniments are played on hand-drums called Jembe drums, and the melody is played on the three bass drums known as Kenkeni, Sangban and Dununba drums. Traditionally, the rhythms and songs are associated with specific events or activities within a community and the lives of its members. Our African teachers have freely shared their music with us and we, in turn, are honored and thrilled to share this music with you.  "
